TEULADA-MORAIRA has had to approve a development on the town’s last remaining plots of virgin land. Not doing so would have meant compensating the Pinada del Molinet developers with €19 million, explained a local government communique. “The Compromis-PSOE-Unaligned coalition has never believed in this project,” the statement insisted, explaining that former mayor Carlos Linares turned down the chance of acquiring the land in 2016. Owing to the impossibility of reversing the agreement between the then-mayor and the landowners, the town hall has negotiated with the developers who have agreed to reduce the number of properties by 30 per cent.
