Discover a fun and lively day of community spirit and charity at Cancelada’s Spring Charity Market, planned to unite locals in the fight against cancer. Scheduled for Saturday, March 14, the family-friendly event promises artisan treasures, engaging workshops, and lively performances, all to benefit the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC).
Artisan stalls and handmade delights await visitors
More than 30 stalls will present handmade products, from exquisite jewellery and stylish bags to adorable children’s clothing. Artisans have poured their creativity into every item, offering unique finds perfect for shoppers seeking one-of-a-kind gifts.
Family workshops inspire creativity for all ages
Activities will cater to everyone, starting with an 11am floral workshop where children learn to sow alveoli under guidance from engineer Irene Santos. Adults follow with a session on composing flower bouquets, led by Gema González from Viveros Costa Jardín.
Musical performances and dance energise the day
Entertainment begins at 12am with the Coro Son y Sal, followed by a 1pm cardio ballet exhibition and class from instructor Vanesa Ramos. At 1.30pm, the ‘La Milana’ dance school takes the stage, while the group Kalima delivers a concert at 5pm to keep spirits high.
Volunteers from AECC will manage a charity bar throughout, directing all proceeds towards cancer research, prevention, and patient support.
Community leaders champion the cause
Councillor Begoña Ortiz emphasises how such events strengthen neighbourhood bonds while advancing vital anti-cancer efforts. Residents receive encouragement to join this wholesome gathering in Plaza José Vázquez Espinosa, running from 10am to 8pm.
Estepona hosts an AECC headquarters at Calle Terraza 170, providing free psychological support, physiotherapy, and social assistance. Patients and families benefit from hospital and home companionship, plus complimentary classes in yoga, dance, crafts, sewing, crochet, languages, painting, writing, and reading.
Events like this highlight collective power in combating cancer, giving hope and unity across the community.
