The mystery of when Marbella sports and padel club Elviria will reopen

Marbella Sports & Padel Club in Elviria arrived on the scene in 2023, an incredible, brand new, all-in-one sports venue that genuinely offers something for everyone. It combines padel with ultra modern, high-quality courts. Fitness, with the latest equipment and a full crossfit outdoor workout area. A shop, with padel sportswear, accessories and rackets. A full bar serving coffees, teas, soft drinks and alcohol and a restaurant open from breakfast until dinner with a modern healthy menu fitting for a sports venue. A place where you can arrive for a match, stay for a workout, and finish with a relaxed drink or meal without needing to go anywhere else.

The club has social events, quiz nights, weekly mixins, lessons taught by ex professional players and hosts major padel events and tournaments.

The gym, rather than feeling like an add-on, is a fully equipped training space with modern machines and equipment, with both an indoor training area and outside space. Classes and personal training sessions available with an award winning trainer.

People are speculating online as to what has happened, and when, and if it will be reopening

So the question people are asking is when is it re-opening? After only a very short time from opening, the club announced it was closed until further notice and only the restaurant and bar remain open. No official explanation was given and shortly after the initial announcement regarding the courts and gym, the closing of the bar and restaurant followed. This has naturally led to speculation online, with local social media groups asking what has happened and residents enquiring as to when it will be back in action. Some commenters suggested the club may be waiting on new licences, with others speculating about permissions and possible noise concerns linked to the courts. Other comments in the same thread alleged too many courts were built that were too close to nearby apartments. Members were also enquiring in the groups to find alternative clubs to play to continue on with their sport.

At present the gates leading down to the club remain firmly closed and chained up, the club’s website still displays a short notice stating it is ‘Closed till further notice’.
