Elche recently celebrated a new edition of its Book Fair, which concluded its programme on the afternoon of Sunday, April 19. The event, which broke attendance records and consolidated the town as the epicenter of culture over the weekend, took place on the idyllic Paseo de la Estacion. More than 200 book signings were carried out with the participation of fifteen local bookstores and three different associations.
The Book Fair was a long-awaited event for the whole family, which included activities for writers and readers of all ages. More than 120 authors attended the event, ready to inspire readers, sign books, and talk about literature with attendees. The three associations participating in the event were Literaturelx, Letra Violeta, and Escritores en su Tinta.
The 15 bookstores participating in the event were:

Records broken for the Elche Book Fair
More than 30,000 attendees were registered for the event and 10,000 copies were sold, representing an increase of 2,000 copies compared to last year.
One of the main draws of the event was the opportunity for readers to get signed copies from their favourite authors, no matter the genre. The children’s area was also revamped for the event, featuring artificial turf and a wide variety of activities for the little ones to take part in.
The fair also featured literature in Valencian, poetry sessions, children’s activities, and a revamped layout of the venue to optimise the development of all scheduled activities.
Since its inception, the Elche Book Fair has established itself as one of the most important cultural events of the season for residents and visitors. The event transformed the Paseo de la Estacion into a meeting point for readers, writers, their families, and curious passersby.
