GRIZZLY’S WORLD: Because one was never going to be enough

The only thing Grizzly’s World asks of you is a decision. Mexico, Japan, or Grizzly’s. Pick one, sit down, and let it take you somewhere. The hardest part is choosing.
Some restaurants have a signature dish. Grizzly’s World has three. Step inside Grizzly’s World and you will find three kitchens, three menus, three entirely different journeys. All under one roof, all bearing the unmistakable mark of a man who built something extraordinary once and simply refused to stop there.
His name is Nico. And before there was a world, there was a single restaurant – Grizzlyʼs, Calpe, where it quietly became one of the popular hang out spots in the area. Success has a way of making ambitious people hungrier. For Nico, it lit a different kind of fire.
The result is Grizzly’s World, a venue that is, in the most literal sense, a world of its own. Bears of all shapes and sizes fill the space, and the room around them is genuinely stunning – warm, carefully put together, and the kind of place you spend the first few minutes just looking around before you even think about the menu. You can tell nobody cut corners. You can feel it.
Taste of Mexico is the kind of place that makes you forget where you actually are. It’s warm, it’s vibrant, and it feels like someone put real thought into every corner of it. The cocktails alone are worth the trip. Add to that a menu of honest, traditional Mexican cooking. The real stuff, not a watered-down version of it. Now you’ve got something Moraira has been missing for years.
Taste of Japan pulls you in a different direction. A large fish tank sits at the heart of the room, and it sets the tone immediately, elegant, calm, genuinely beautiful. Sushi is sourced properly, prepared with real care, it’s as good as you’ll find anywhere along this coast. The rest of the menu holds up too, and together it all makes a very convincing case for booking twice.
This is, of course, a provocation as much as it is a policy. The inability to mix and match forces a decision, and decisions have a way of sharpening anticipation. Which world do you want tonight? The question lingers pleasantly on the walk over. It lingers more the next morning, when you’re already thinking about coming back to try the one you didn’t choose.
Nico has built something that earns that second visit (and a third). Grizzly’s World is not just a restaurant group. It is, as the name suggests, a world. Pick your door and step through.
“I wanted people to walk through the door and feel like they had travelled somewhere. Not just eaten. Travelled.”
“Each restaurant has its own soul. Its own menu. Its own mood. When you sit down, I want you to feel that completely with no distractions, no compromises.”
