Finally, a running event we can actually get on board with. The Running & Wine Fest 2026 is returning to Mallorca this spring, blending vineyard races, wellness sessions, DJs and local wine into one feel-good festival in the heart of Binissalem. Forget intimidating marathons and fluorescent energy drinks – this is exercise, Mallorca-style.

Taking place on Saturday May 16 at the historic Bodegas José L. Ferrer winery, the event transforms one of the island’s most famous wine estates into a lively outdoor fitness and lifestyle festival. Expect scenic vineyard routes, sunset workouts, live music and plenty of opportunities to reward yourself afterwards with a glass of locally produced wine.

Set against the backdrop of Mallorca’s rolling countryside, the festival has quickly become one of the island’s most unique spring events, attracting everyone from dedicated runners and gym lovers to groups of friends simply looking for a fun afternoon outdoors.

Organisers have designed the event to feel more like a celebration than a competition. While there are timed runs and fitness challenges, the atmosphere is relaxed, social and geared towards enjoying the experience rather than chasing personal bests. Think wellness retreat meets music festival – with better drinks.

Fitness, food and fine wine

The programme includes a mix of running routes, HIIT classes, pilates sessions and recovery activities, alongside nutrition workshops and wellness talks throughout the day. Visitors can also browse pop-up stands from local brands, health companies and lifestyle businesses while DJs keep the atmosphere upbeat from afternoon into evening.

Of course, the wine remains a major part of the attraction. Located in the centre of Mallorca’s famous wine region, Binissalem is known for producing some of the island’s best reds and rosés, and the festival fully embraces its surroundings. After crossing the finish line, guests can enjoy tastings from Bodegas José L. Ferrer while relaxing among the vineyards as the sun begins to set.

And honestly, if all sporting events ended with wine tastings and DJs, participation levels would probably skyrocket.

Food trucks and local vendors will also be on-site serving everything from healthy bowls and smoothies to more indulgent post-run treats. Because balance.

Mallorca’s wellness scene keeps growing

The Running & Wine Fest is part of Mallorca’s growing reputation as a wellness and lifestyle destination. Beyond its beaches and luxury hotels, the island has become increasingly popular for fitness retreats, cycling holidays, yoga escapes and outdoor sporting events thanks to its mild climate and spectacular scenery.

Binissalem, traditionally known for its wine production, offers the perfect setting for an event that combines movement with Mediterranean lifestyle. Surrounded by vineyards and mountain views, it feels worlds away from the busy tourist hotspots on the coast.

The festival’s appeal also lies in its accessibility. You don’t need to be an elite athlete to take part. Whether you’re a regular runner, occasional gym-goer or someone whose main interest lies in the wine portion of the programme, the event is designed to be inclusive and social.

Many visitors attend in groups, treating the day as a mini escape into Mallorca’s countryside with a healthy side of entertainment thrown in.

A different kind Of Mallorca festival

As Mallorca continues to evolve beyond traditional tourism, events like Running & Wine Fest showcase a more modern side of the island – one focused on wellbeing, local culture and outdoor living.

For visitors travelling to Mallorca in spring, it offers a refreshing alternative to the usual beach clubs and nightlife scene. For residents, it’s another excuse to spend a Saturday outdoors with friends, music and very good wine.

Running optional. Rosé highly encouraged.
