This summer, Calpe will come alive with a packed June calendar of cultural, leisure, and community events, with activities and fun shows for residents and visitors of all ages. The town’s June programme, called, “Calpe Te Ofrece” (Calpe Offers You), will span the entire month and blend heritage, entertainment, and nature-based activities, all with the backdrop of this charming Costa Blanca town in the summertime to enjoy.
A programme with culture, history, music, and enjoyment of nature: Calpe welcomes summer with open arms
One of the main highlights of this year’s programme is a wide variety of cultural experiences on offer. Visitors will be able to enjoy a range of activities, from poetry recitals to theatre performances to concerts, and many of them will take place in some of Calpe’s most famous cultural venues, including the Casa de Cultura and the Museu d’Història de Calp. Some of the most popular events will be micro-theatre performances, as well as intimate musical concerts to ensure the town will be a major hub for music all summer long.
For the history buffs of the municipality, guided tours will be available. Free visitors to the Baños de la Reina archaeological site run until late June, while specially organised tours of architect Ricardo Bofill’s iconic buildings are scheduled on selected Saturdays. The town will also offer theatrical walking tours through the historic centre, giving participants an engaging way to discover local heritage.
Outdoor and nature-based activities will also be a major highlight. Multiple times a week, Zumba sessions will be held, and will encourage locals and tourists to get up, get active with sport, socialise, and enjoy the beauty of Calpe. Meanwhile, the popular tourist train, maritime excursions, and catamaran trips taking place along the coastline will provide opportunities to explore Calpe from both land and sea. Families can also enjoy attractions such as the Family Park fairground, adding a fun, accessible dimension to the month’s offerings.
One-off events to mark international days of observance and famed traditional celebrations
The calendar also includes special, one-off events, including a videomapping show scheduled for June 12, which will transform a local space with immersive light displays. One June 13, Calpe will join the fun and quirky global day of observance, Worldwide Knit in Public Day.
Finally, as the month draws to a close, Calpe will gear up for the traditional Hogueras de San Juan celebrations, taking place on June 23, when locals and visitors gather on the beach for bonfires, fireworks, and festivities that mark the arrival of summer.
With its diverse programme and vibrant atmosphere, Calpe’s June calendar showcases the town at its most dynamic, offering countless ways to experience its culture, community spirit, and leisurely Costa Blanca lifestyle.
