Residents across the Costa Blanca have plenty of opportunities to support worthwhile causes this summer, whether through a fundraising afternoon packed with entertainment or by hunting for bargains in a local charity shop. Two upcoming initiatives in Torre de la Horadada and Guardamar del Segura are helping raise vital funds while bringing communities together in support of important charitable work.

Charity cabaret

A day of music, entertainment and fundraising is coming to Lo Monte Camping & Resort in Torre de la Horadada on Thursday 25 June, with all proceeds supporting Samaritans in Spain.

Organised by Ant’s Fat Fighters Community Social Club, the Summer Fundraiser promises an afternoon packed with live entertainment, games, food and community spirit, all in aid of the charity’s vital work supporting people in need across Spain.

The headline attraction will be a great Sister Act Tribute Show, featuring all the feel-good songs from the musical, along with special guest performers.

Doors open at 1:00 PM, with the show starting at 2:00 PM. Tickets are priced at €24 and include a three-course lunch.

Funds raised will go to Samaritans in Spain, a registered charity that provides emotional support and assistance to people facing difficult times. The organisation relies heavily on fundraising events and community support to continue its work.

Events such as this not only raise much-needed funds but also help increase awareness of the services available to those experiencing loneliness, emotional distress or personal difficulties.

The event will take place at Lo Monte Camping & Resort, Avenida Comunidad Valenciana 157, Torre de la Horadada.

Organisers are encouraging people to book early. For tickets and information, contact (+34) 603 160 615, or email auntieantsfatmail@gmail.com, or contact Lo Monte Camping directly on (+34) 966 766 782.

Summer sale

If you enjoy finding a bargain while supporting a good cause, now is the perfect time to visit the SAT Charity Shop in Guardamar del Segura.

Following a successful start to the summer, the charity has announced that its popular sale will be extended for an extra week, giving shoppers even more time to snap up discounted items while helping rescue dogs across the Costa Blanca.

The Guardamar shop is packed with bargains, from clothing and household items to books, accessories and unique finds.

Located on Carretera Luis Rivera, close to the town hall and SUMA office, the shop was the first SAT store to open back in 2005. It remains one of eight charity shops operated by SAT Animal Rescue across Alicante Province.

Every purchase helps support the charity’s work rescuing, caring for and rehoming abandoned and neglected dogs throughout the Vega Baja. SAT receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations, fundraising and shop sales to cover veterinary bills, food, shelter and specialist care for the animals in its kennels.

The charity is also looking for volunteers to join its friendly team, making it a great opportunity for anyone wanting to give back to the local community.

Whether you are searching for a hidden treasure, updating your wardrobe or simply looking for a way to support local animal welfare efforts, every purchase makes a difference.

The SAT Charity Shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9.30 AM until 1.30 PM.
