On the evening of July 2, the historic grounds of the Auditorio La Barbera dels Aragonés in Villajoyosa will transform into an open-air arena of wonder with the highly anticipated contemporary circus performance Sublunar, presented by the acclaimed Cía. Botproject, promises an unforgettable night under the Mediterranean sky. Combining humour, daring acrobatics, and breathtaking aerial routines, this impactful performance is set to be a highlight of the town’s summer cultural calendar.
A mesmerising mix of acrobatics and comedy
Organised by Botproject, this event is part of the ninth edition of the Contorsions Festival, an outdoor contemporary circus performance that explores industrial spaces and pushes the boundaries of performance arts to the limit.
Set to begin at 8:00pm, Sublunar will push the boundaries of traditional circus arts and dazzle audiences with a performance far removed from just a simple children’s show. The performance will captivate audiences with the playful, expressive physical comedy of the clowns, as well as with the high-level artistry, poetic staging, and sophisticated choreography of the acrobats. It is a production that has been designed for the whole family, proving that the magic of the circus doesn’t stop enchanting audiences at any age.
A spectacular backdrop for gravity-defying feats
The historic gardens of the Auditorio La Barbera dels Aragonés will provide a scenic backdrop to the performances as the acrobats carry out their gravity-defying aerial acts. Spectators can expect a dynamic flow of performances, from entertaining clowning to jaw-dropping feats on trampolines.
Whether you are a lifelong lover of the performing arts or simply looking for a magical night out with friends, family, or loved ones, this event promises laughter, suspense, and pure wonder. The event will also be free to attend. Visitors and residents should mark their calendars for July 2 at 8:00pm; Villajoyosa is ready to be spellbound.
