Residents in Albox are celebrating the return of one of the town’s favourite summer traditions, with the much-loved open-air cinema back for another season of family entertainment under the stars.
Following the success of last year’s programme, Albox Town Hall has expanded the initiative, offering four outdoor film screenings throughout July and August. Designed to bring neighbours, friends and visitors together, the free evenings promise a relaxed atmosphere where everyone can enjoy a feel-good film in the heart of the community.
Four family-friendly films to enjoy this summer
The 2026 season will get underway on Wednesday, July 8, in Plaza Mayor with the Spanish musical comedy Voy a pasármelo bien (I’m Going to Have a Good Time). The lively opening night is expected to attract families and film lovers alike, filling the square with laughter as the nostalgic comedy kicks off this year’s programme in style.
The outdoor cinema will return on July 22, when audiences can enjoy Superman in Plaza de San Francisco. The superhero adventure is expected to be another popular choice, bringing one of the world’s most iconic comic book characters to the big screen in an unforgettable open-air setting.
August will see two Disney favourites delight younger audiences and adults alike. On August 5, Plaza Mayor will host Frozen, giving families the chance to sing along to its much-loved soundtrack, before the season concludes on August 19 in Plaza de San Francisco with Mufasa, bringing the summer cinema programme to a spectacular close.
All screenings will begin at 10pm, with audiences invited to bring foldable chairs, blankets, snacks and settle in for a memorable summer evening.
Food, films and summer evenings in Albox
The outdoor cinema is about far more than watching a film. Each screening has been designed as a social occasion where residents and visitors can spend quality time together during the warm summer evenings.
Adding to the atmosphere, Oveja Street Food Truck will be serving its popular gourmet burgers before and throughout each screening, allowing cinema-goers to enjoy dinner without leaving the venue. The combination of great food, family entertainment and open-air surroundings has become one of the reasons the event proved so successful last summer.
Whether you’re looking for an inexpensive family outing, a relaxed evening with friends or simply a chance to enjoy a film in a unique setting, the Albox cinema nights offer something for everyone.
Albox Town Hall builds on last year’s success
After receiving such an enthusiastic response in previous editions, Albox Town Hall has doubled down on the initiative, reinforcing its commitment to creating free cultural events that bring the community together throughout the summer months.
Residents and holidaymakers are encouraged to arrive early to secure a good spot, bring comfortable seating and make the most of these magical summer nights beneath the stars.
For updates on the cinema programme and details of other community events taking place throughout the season, visitors can follow Albox Town Hall’s official social media channels.
