One of Mallorca’s most prestigious marinas turned 40 in unforgettable style as Puerto Portals welcomed leading figures from business, sport, fashion and entertainment for an elegant anniversary celebration overlooking the Mediterranean.
The exclusive event, held on Saturday evening, celebrated four decades since the marina first opened in 1986. Guests gathered among the luxury yachts for an evening of live music, fine dining and tributes to the vision that transformed Puerto Portals into one of Europe’s best-known marinas.
A star-studded guest list
The anniversary attracted a host of well-known faces from across Spain. Among those attending were Victoria de Marichalar, television presenter Joaquín Prat, writer Boris Izaguirre, model Mar Flores, businessman Mario Conde, presenter Fiona Ferrer and Olympic champions Marcus Cooper and Lidia Valentín. Former international handball players Eli Pinedo and Lucía Micó also joined the celebrations alongside representatives from politics, finance and the nautical industry.
Institutional guests included the Mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual, and the Balearic Government’s Minister for Enterprise, Self-Employment and Energy, Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro, reflecting the marina’s importance to Mallorca’s tourism and economy.
Honouring the founder’s vision
During the evening, Puerto Portals CEO Corinna Graf paid tribute to her father, Dr Klaus Graf, whose ambition was to create far more than a traditional marina.
Speaking during the celebration, she reflected on the idea that a harbour should be a destination where people could enjoy restaurants, shopping, leisure and culture alongside the nautical lifestyle. She also thanked customers, businesses and staff whose support has helped establish Puerto Portals as an internationally recognised destination over the past four decades.
Today, the marina offers hundreds of berths alongside luxury boutiques, waterfront restaurants, bars and an extensive year-round events programme, making it one of Mallorca’s most recognisable lifestyle destinations.
Music, gastronomy and looking ahead
After the official speeches, guests enjoyed a cocktail reception prepared by restaurants based within Puerto Portals before live band The Tutsies and DJs kept the celebrations going late into the evening. Social media was soon filled with glamorous images of guests posing against a backdrop of superyachts and the marina illuminated after sunset.
While the evening celebrated the marina’s remarkable history, organisers also looked firmly towards the future, highlighting continued investment in innovation, sustainability and its Blue Marina environmental programme.
Forty years after opening its gates, Puerto Portals remains one of Mallorca’s defining luxury destinations, continuing to attract visitors from around the world while reinforcing its reputation as a symbol of premium Mediterranean living.
