Breath-taking art exhibitions, live music, flamenco, sculpture and dance will be embraced by Sotogrande Port this summer, giving culture enthusiasts another reason to explore one of the coasts most exquisite marinas.
During July and August, you can enjoy a whole host of exhibitions, performances and art projects across Plaza de las Palmeras, Ribera del Marlin and Plaza de los Naranjos, in a varied and rich programme designed with something for everyone.
Striking art exhibitions bring colour to Sotogrande Port
On Saturday, July 18, visitors can marvel at the interesting range of incredible works of art displayed in the Summer in a Palette of Colour event held at Plaza de las Palmeras. Organised with Mosayko Arte Musica, the open-air exhibition features paintings, sculptures and photography by Spanish and international artists inspired by Sotogrande’s distinctive light, calm colours and coastal environment.
Art lovers can also visit the unique Landscapes of the Heart, an exhibition by the immensely talented Syrie Jo at Fresco Marina Sotogrande until July 31. Her work explores memory, emotion and transformation through collections including 99 Hearts and her colourful sky series, ending with a new body of work where heart and horizon come together.

Flamenco, dance and live music fill the summer months
Your senses will not only be treated by beautiful art but also by music, as live entertainment runs through the summer. Earlier in the season, Merili and Juan Pablo performed a repertoire of pop, Latin music and international favourites with vocals, acoustic violin and electric violin.
On Sunday, July 26, guests can enjoy El Chasquido del Manton, an evening celebrating traditional flamenco at Ribera del Marlin. Performers Las Gemelas, Lidia and Esther, will appear with guitarist Jesus Piña and DJ Jose Enrique in an intimate performance inspired by one of Spain’s best-loved traditions.
Dance returns again on August 23 with Cabalgando entre Arte, combining lyrical and contemporary dance in an evening performance overlooking the marina.
Sculpture and community art round off the programme
Weekend visitors can enjoy Arte Taurino, an outdoor exhibition by Tomas Cardu presented with Fundacion Navega in Plaza de los Naranjos. Cardu’s thoroughly interesting work shows off a different angle with a contemporary interpretation of Spain’s bullfighting tradition.
Community participation is integrated into the programme with the third La Huella Art Marathon, organised by Osvaldo Lobalzo. Artists and members of the public of all ages are invited to create a large mural using recycled materials, encouraging creativity and environmental awareness.
Inside the Port’s Control Tower, visitors can see work by Chilean artist Pamela Naranjo, founder of La Poule Doree Marbella. Her colourful creations use papier-mache, recycled cardboard and mixed-media techniques, with recognisable The Lucky Hen among her best-known works.
Public spaces around Sotogrande Port also feature sculptures by Jose Luis Biedma. Permanent works of art for visitors to appreciate across the marina throughout the year.
Culture becomes part of everyday life at the marina
Public squares and waterfront spaces are the perfect setting for exhibitions and performances, giving the public the chance to enjoy culture just a few steps from the serene backdrop of the Mediterranean.
Sotogrande Port says the programme also supports several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by encouraging cultural participation, supporting creative industries and working with artists and cultural organisations across Campo de Gibraltar and the western Costa del Sol.
