More than 130 motorcycles will take to the roads of Axarquia Saturday, July 18, as biker group R de Ruta hosts its third annual Nocturnal Route through the region’s beautiful villages.
What does the event entail?
Roughly 200 riders are expected to join the convoy, which departs at 7.30pm from Venta Ramirez in El Trapiche, Velez-Malaga. Riders will wind through the streets of Periana, Alfarnate, Colmenar and Riogordo before looping back to the same venue for a shared dinner.
Organisers designed the route to celebrate group riding, scenic countryside and a culture of responsible motorcycling. Safety, camaraderie and adherence to traffic rules are central themes of the night’s programme, with a dedicated coordination team keeping the convoy running smoothly throughout.
A successful growing tradition in the region
This event is the third time R de Ruta has organised a rally through Axarquia, with participation growing more and more each year. Riders from across Malaga and wider Andalucia are expected to attend, showing how far the event has expanded in popularity beyond local circles.
Dinner at Venta Ramirez will close the evening, giving participants a well deserved chance to unwind together and take part in a prize draw featuring gifts donated by sponsoring businesses. Those keen to join can still register by contacting R de Ruta directly ahead of Saturday.
Villages invited to join the celebration
Residents of Periana, Alfarnate, Colmenar and Riogordo have been invited to step outside and greet riders as they pass through. Organisers hope the gesture will bring local enthusiasm and draw attention to the natural beauty and tourism appeal of the wider Axarquia area, away from its more popular coastal routes.
Safety and coordination on the night
Group circulation does not exempt riders from following traffic rules, organisers stress, with all participants asked to maintain safe distances, avoid risky manoeuvres and follow the coordination team’s instructions. R de Ruta sums up the night’s spirit in four words – companionship, respect, responsible driving and passion for motorcycling.
