Families in San Pedro Alcantara have a cool new date for their summer diaries. Plaza de La Libertad will host a Children’s Foam Party on Saturday, July 25 from midday, with games, entertainment and activities for all ages to add to your fun in the sun.
Neighbourhood association behind the summer event
The event is organised by the El Cruce Neighbourhood Association, in collaboration with Marbella’s Department of Citizen Participation and the San Pedro Alcantara Deputy Mayor’s Office. Deputy mayor Javier Garcia, area councillor Enrique Rodriguez and association president Estrella Garcia presented the programme this week.
Rodriguez said the summer schedule “helps bring life to neighbourhoods through the work carried out by local associations”, adding that “this kind of event strengthens community ties among residents of San Pedro.” Garcia highlighted the event’s place within Marbella’s summer offerings, praising cooperation between council departments and neighbourhood associations in organising activities for residents.
Estrella Garcia thanked the council for its support and said the aim was “to offer a space for community life where children and adults can share a day of leisure, bringing back traditional games that let families recall childhood experiences and pass them on to new generations.”
Foam cannons to cool off as the main event
The party is aimed at younger children, giving them a chance to relax and beat the July heat playing amongst the foam cannons set up for the occasion. Traditional games and children’s competitions will open the afternoon, as part of the association’s effort to revive classic pastimes. Gifts and sweets will be distributed, plus a bar on site will provide food and drink at affordable prices.
How to attend
The Children’s Foam Party is free to attend and open to anyone in the area. Families can simply head to Plaza de La Libertad from midday on Saturday, July 25. The activities run throughout the afternoon with no registration required. More information can be found at the Marbella Town Hall website.
