Alicante’s Quintana shopping district to host day of sport, shopping and family fun

Alicante’s Quintana shopping district will be transformed into a giant open-air sports and entertainment venue when Sports of Quintana returns this summer. The free event will bring together local businesses, fitness activities, family entertainment and live music, creating a lively atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.

Quintana prepares for second Sports of Quintana event

Alicante’s Quintana shopping district will once again combine sport, shopping and entertainment when the second Sports of Quintana takes place on Saturday, 1 August.

The free event will run from 9.00 AM until 2.00 PM along Calle Poeta Quintana, from Avenida General Marva to Calle Capitan Segarra, transforming the street into a giant sports and commercial circuit.

More than 100 local businesses are expected to take part, with shops remaining open throughout the day offering promotions while visitors enjoy live music, gastronomy, craft stalls and activities for all ages.

Activities for every age and ability

The programme is divided into six themed sections.

Families will find children’s games, sack races, rhythmic gymnastics, craft workshops and a physiotherapy and sports massage area, while local sports clubs will organise football activities for youngsters.

Fitness enthusiasts can join instructor-led sessions including body combat, Zumba, functional training, Hyrox-style circuits and CrossFit demonstrations.

There will also be exhibitions and introductory workshops showcasing the traditional Valencian sport of Pilota Valenciana, while the final section will feature a Zen & Mind area offering barre, stretching, posture and flexibility classes using wireless headphones.

Shopping, entertainment and local businesses

Alongside the sporting activities, visitors will be able to browse offers from participating retailers, enjoy food and drink and experience a festival atmosphere in one of Alicante’s best-known shopping streets.

Free chilled drinking water stations will be available throughout the route, helping visitors stay hydrated while taking part in the day’s activities or exploring the wide range of shops, stalls and entertainment on offer.
