The popular four-day Cuban celebration returns to Mijas Pueblo

Mijas Town Hall has announced full details for the upcoming summer event that will transform the village centre. Running from Thursday, August 6 to Sunday, August 9, the second round of the Old Havana Festival (Habana Vieja) festival will light up the square with four nights of music, food, and culture.

Public Thoroughfares Councillor Melisa Ceballos presented the official programme for this year’s festival, confirming that celebrations will kick off each afternoon at 6pm in Plaza Virgen de la Peña.

Authentic street food and local stalls

Visitors heading to the central square will find themed decorations, authentic street food and craft stalls. Event organisers have designed the space to host thousands of attendees across the four days, perfect for big groups to bring along the whole family and friends.

Food lovers can enjoy the gastronomy as the stalls will be serving up freshly prepared traditional dishes such as authentic tamales and classic Latin recipes cooked on site. Guests can sample regional drinks, try traditional island meals, and browse handcrafted items brought in by visiting artisans.

Live performances and classic Latin music

Keeping your feet moving won’t be a problem as stage acts throughout the four evenings feature live bands, dancers, and dedicated tribute artists celebrating famous Cuban musicians. Music fans can enjoy a wide variety of classic styles, including son cubano, salsa, mambo, bolero, and rumba, with plenty of room to dance and show off your moves.
