World Cup sweepstake raises funds for Cancer Care Jávea

A simple World Cup sweepstake has turned into a meaningful act of generosity after a team at a Jávea business raised €500 for Cancer Care Jávea, inspired by the support the charity gave to a member of their own family.

Staff at Vicens Ash organised the fundraiser to thank the charity for the care it provided during their father’s illness. Having seen first-hand the difference Cancer Care Jávea’s nurses made at a difficult time, the team decided they wanted to help ensure other local families could continue receiving the same compassionate support.

The fundraising effort centred around a World Cup sweepstake, with colleagues and supporters getting involved to raise money for the local charity, which provides free nursing care and practical support for people living with cancer across the community.

Donation helps keep vital local services running

Earlier this week, Cancer Care Jávea Chair Jeanette met with Faye from Vicens Ash to receive the €500 donation on behalf of the charity.

The contribution will go towards helping Cancer Care Jávea continue its work supporting patients and their families, with every euro raised helping to fund free nursing care and other essential services for those facing a cancer diagnosis.

For many local charities, community fundraising events such as sweepstakes, raffles and sponsored challenges provide an important source of income, allowing them to continue offering support at no cost to those who need it most.
