Serious foodies on the Costa del Sol are in for a proper treat this summer as Estepona gets ready to host an epic culinary showdown inside its spectacular bullring. Burger fans from all over the coast are expected to flock to the arena for five days of serious indulgence, cold drinks, and friendly competition.
Plaza de Toros will transform into a meat lover’s paradise from Wednesday, August 12 until Sunday August 16 for the arrival of The Burger Cup. Organisers have confirmed gates open every evening, and stay open from 7pm right until 1am, giving hungry visitors with eyes bigger than their bellies plenty of time to sample the juicy and colourful creations. Best of all, entry costs absolutely nothing, making it a cracking evening out for locals and holidaymakers staying up to date with the latest culinary trends in burgers.
Best burger trucks going head-to-head
Ten of Spain’s best burger joints and food trucks, travelling from every corner of Spain, will set up shop in the arena to compete for ultimate bragging rights. Visitors can grab a bite from each vendor, compare the different mouth-watering recipes, and cast their personal vote to decide who takes home the trophy. Pricing across all the participating stalls will stay pretty similar, meaning hungry customers can focus entirely on taste when picking their top choice.
Competition will be fierce with an exciting lineup of vendors, including Lame Smash Burger, Vulcano Grill, Burger Lab, Vulcano Arde, Canalla Tacos y Tragos, Capitano Burger, Mostaza Green Burger, Axo que bueno, Smash Ganic, and La Mona Grill & Show. Each kitchen on wheels brings its own unique spin on the staple dish, ranging from crispy smash burgers to stacked gourmet masterpieces.
Sweet treats, live music and family fun
Anyone looking for extra sides will find a specialised chip stall serving up portions of golden fries to complete their meal. Sweet tooths can get stuck into La Migueleta, where traditional Miguelitos de La Roda puff pastry treats will be available in several delicious varieties. Official details provided by Estepona Town Hall confirm that this five-day gathering offers way more than just burgers.
Live music performances will take place each evening to keep the atmosphere buzzing late into the night, while dedicated family activities keep children thoroughly entertained. Residents and holidaymakers seeking fun events on the Costa del Sol can enjoy a complete night of entertainment without having to blow their budget.
