David Bowie tribute brings Starman classics to Villamartin Plaza

David Bowie fans are in for a memorable night on Thursday, August 20, when Starman: The Ultimate David Bowie Tribute takes to the stage at Villamartin Plaza for an evening celebrating one of Britain’s greatest music legends.

The free entertainment begins at 7:00 PM on the Main Plaza Stage, giving residents and holidaymakers the chance to enjoy some of Bowie’s most famous songs in the heart of Orihuela Costa.

David Bowie classics take centre stage

Starman will be accompanied by lead guitarist Eric De Jong for a show celebrating the music, energy and unmistakable style that helped make Bowie one of the most influential artists in modern music.

Audiences can look forward to many of his best-loved songs, including Starman, Heroes, Life on Mars?, Let’s Dance and Rebel Rebel, alongside other favourites from a career that spanned several decades.

Bowie became known for constantly reinventing his music and image, moving through rock, glam, soul, electronic music and pop while creating some of the most recognisable songs of his generation.

The Villamartin Plaza performance will give fans an opportunity to revisit that remarkable catalogue in a live setting, with Starman recreating the sound and character of Bowie’s music alongside De Jong’s guitar work.

Tre Amici open the evening

Opening the entertainment will be Tre Amici, whose tribute to Il Divo and The Three Tenors has earned them a loyal following across the Costa Blanca.

Their combination of rich harmonies and powerful vocals will provide a very different musical start to the evening, with favourites including Nessun Dorma and other popular classical crossover numbers.

The mixture of classical crossover followed by David Bowie classics promises plenty of variety across more than four hours of entertainment.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, book a table and enjoy dinner or drinks at one of the many restaurants and bars surrounding the square before settling in for the performances.

The event takes place at Villamartin Plaza on Avenida de las Brisas, Orihuela Costa, from 7:00 PM until 11:30 PM on Thursday, August 20.
