Mallorca’s magical night markets return with two seaside evenings of crafts, food and summer atmosphere

Mallorca’s balmy summer nights are about to become even more colourful as the popular Fires Nocturnes return to the island’s east coast, bringing two evenings of artisan shopping, local flavours and Mediterranean atmosphere to s’Illot and Cala Mendia.

Organised by the Ajuntament de Manacor, the summer night-market series celebrates Mallorca’s creative community, with stalls showcasing handcrafted products, local makers and regional produce.

Following an earlier event in Porto Cristo in July, attention now turns to the final two dates of the 2026 programme, giving residents and holidaymakers another reason to stay out long after the sun has disappeared.

S’Illot comes alive on August 22

The first of the two remaining Fires Nocturnes will take place in s’Illot on Saturday, August 22, beginning at 7pm and continuing until midnight. Entry is free.

For one evening, the seaside resort will take on the feel of an open-air summer marketplace, with visitors able to wander between stalls and browse products created by local artisans and producers.

Expect handmade goods, locally crafted items and regional delicacies, with the event designed as much around enjoying the atmosphere as shopping.

With the market beginning as the heat of the day starts to fade, visitors can combine an afternoon beside the sea with dinner, drinks and an evening stroll through the fair.

The setting is a large part of its appeal. Rather than a daytime market under the intense August sun, the Fires Nocturnes offer the chance to explore after dark, when temperatures are cooler and Mallorca’s coastal towns take on their distinctive summer-night buzz.

Cala Mendia takes its turn

One week later, the Fires Nocturnes move along the Manacor coast to Cala Mendia on Saturday, August 29.

The second market will once again begin at 7pm, with free admission, bringing together artisan stalls, local products and the relaxed community atmosphere that has become central to the summer series.

Cala Mendia’s beautiful coastal location should provide a particularly picturesque backdrop, making it an easy event to turn into a full day out. Visitors can spend the afternoon at the beach before staying on for the market as evening arrives.

The Fires Nocturnes form part of Mallorca’s much wider tradition of summer night fairs, when towns and villages across the island move their celebrations into the cooler evening hours. Artisan markets, local food, music and community gatherings fill the calendar throughout July and August.
