Fuengirola is inviting residents to swap the September return to routine for a month packed with sport, with 21 activities planned across the town as part of the fourth Fuengirola en Forma programme.

Sport for all ages and abilities

A wide mix of activities will give locals and expats plenty of ways to get moving. Free outdoor fitness classes make it easier to fit exercise around busy schedules. Running, basketball, volleyball, squash, fishing, hiking and paddle surf all feature in the schedule.

Family-friendly sessions and inclusive sporting activities are also included. Popular games will give younger participants something to enjoy, while adults can try group exercise and competitive events.

New Hybrid Run comes to Fuengirola

One of the new attractions this year is the first Hybrid Run, combining running with functional strength exercises. Participants aged 12 and over can take part individually, in pairs or as a family. The event will take place at the Elola Sports Complex on September 12.

Another new addition is the Desafio Novel bodybuilding championship, while returning favourites include the Pedro Cuevas Mile and a night-time outdoor spinning marathon. A week of #BeActive activities will also form part of the programme in late September.

Activities will take place in public spaces and sports facilities around Fuengirola, including Plaza Pedro Cuevas, Plaza de España, the seafront, beach areas and the Elola complex. Several events are being organised with local sports clubs, gyms and local groups, giving participants opportunities to meet others and discover new activities.

Football, fishing, basketball and other competitions are also planned, with inclusive sport remaining part of the programme.

Full details, including dates and registration information for events requiring entry, are available through the official Fuengirola website. September gives residents plenty of chances to exercise, try a new sport or simply get out and join in, whether they prefer a casual session or a more competitive challenge. For everyone.
