Benissa charity concert to feature classic tribute to Nino Bravo

The coastal town of Benissa is preparing for a memorable weekend of classic pop and romantic ballads as it plays host to a special charity concert series on September 19. Bringing music lovers together for an important cause, the double-header event will directly benefit L’Associació Contra el Càncer de Benissa, raising vital funds to support local cancer patients, families, and community care initiatives across the region.

Supporting local cancer care through music: A tribute to Nino Bravo’s greatest hits

The musical celebration will kick off on Saturday, September 19, with a high-energy tribute to Nino Bravo. Fans can expect emotional live renditions of timeless anthems including “Un Beso y Una Flor,” “Libre,” and “America, America,” giving attendees the chance to relive the soaring vocals and orchestral arrangements that defined Spanish pop in the 1970s.

Local performer Sebastian Cuenca shared details of the initiative on social media, calling on residents from Benissa and neighbouring towns across the Marina Alta to turn out in force for the cause.

Honouring Camilo Sesto on night two

In addition to this performance, the nostalgia will continue into the following evening, Sunday, September 20, as the spotlight shifts to honour another titan of Spanish balladry, Camilo Sesto. Known for his dramatic range and chart-topping hits like “Vivir Así Es Morir de Amor” and “Algo de Mí,” the second night, also performed by Sebastián Cuenca, promises an equally impressive retrospective of Sesto’s historic career.

All proceeds from the night will go towards raising vital funds to support local neighbours battling cancer, as well as their families. The association frequently participates in local events, and recently participated in World Cancer Day with a workshop designed for awareness, solidarity, and support for local residents and visitors.
