Costa Blanca golfers raise €2,005 to help local residents through Help at Home

Expat golfers on the Costa Blanca have raised more than €2,000 for a local charity helping people in need across the community.

Help at Home Costa Blanca was chosen as Euro Golf Society captain Duncan Roberts’ charity for the 2025/26 season, with members raising a total of €2,005.33.

The latest €1,230.33, raised between January and June, was presented to the charity on August 19, bringing the season’s fundraising total to €2,005.33.

Helping residents across Costa Blanca South

Based in Playa Flamenca, Help at Home raises funds locally to provide support for people living across Costa Blanca South, with volunteers helping residents of all ages when they need practical assistance or simply someone to turn to.

Its services include taking people to hospital and medical appointments, befriending those who are lonely, helping residents access Spanish social services and providing interpreters.

The charity can also offer information about carers and care homes, personal alarms and GPS trackers for people living with dementia or Alzheimer’s, as well as guidance on UK benefits and contacts for the British Consulate and ex-service personnel.

For many foreign residents, living away from relatives can make illness, reduced mobility or unexpected problems particularly difficult. Having local volunteers who understand those challenges can make an important difference.

Charity shops help fund local support

Much of the money needed to provide these services is generated through donated goods sold in the charity’s shops at Flamenca Beach Commercial Centre.

The Euro Golf donation provides another welcome boost and is an example of the international community supporting organisations that help neighbours in need.

Help at Home’s message is simple: funds raised in the community are used for the community, allowing donations and fundraising efforts to directly support people living locally.

Golfers turn their hobby into valuable help

Choosing Help at Home as the captain’s charity gave Euro Golf Society members the opportunity to support its work throughout the 2025/26 season.

The latest presentation brought their final contribution to €2,005.33, providing valuable additional funds for the charity and the services its volunteers provide.

Thanks to Euro Golf’s members, money raised through a shared love of golf is now helping Help at Home continue supporting people across Costa Blanca South when they need it most.
