The Funk Federation will come together for a special tribute concert in memory of their drummer, friend and bandmate Dan Naughton on Wednesday, September 2.

The concert begins at 7:30 PM at The Captain’s Table in Punta Marina, Orihuela Costa, with all proceeds supporting Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).

The evening will provide an opportunity for friends, fellow musicians and members of the Costa Blanca community to remember Dan through music while also raising money and awareness for an important cause.

Remembering Dan through music

Dan died from coronary heart disease affecting all three of his arteries. He had experienced no symptoms and was unaware that he had the condition.

His death has made the tribute an opportunity not only to celebrate his life and his contribution to The Funk Federation, but also to highlight heart conditions that can exist without obvious warning signs.

The Funk Federation will provide the music for the evening, bringing people together in the way Dan knew best.

A giant raffle will also take place, helping to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

Supporting Cardiac Risk in the Young

All proceeds from the tribute will support Cardiac Risk in the Young, a charity working to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths.

CRY supports families affected by young sudden cardiac death, promotes heart screening and funds medical research into conditions that can cause apparently fit and healthy young people to die unexpectedly.

The charity also works to increase awareness of cardiac conditions and provides support to those dealing with the sudden loss of a young person.

By linking the concert with CRY, Dan’s friends and bandmates hope the evening can help other families while ensuring his memory continues to make a difference.

Free entry to Orihuela Costa tribute

Entry to the September 2 concert is free, although advance booking is advised for anyone planning to attend.

Those unable to be there on the night can still support the fundraising through Dan’s dedicated page on the CRY website.

The concert begins at 7:30 PM at The Captain’s Table, Punta Marina, Orihuela Costa, 03189.
