Behind Cancer Support Mallorca is a dedicated team of people who work together to make sure that nobody facing cancer on the island has to feel alone.
At the heart of the organisation is Rebecca, our Coordinator, who manages CSG remotely, keeping the administration, patient support, volunteers, events, accounts, social media and day-to-day running of the charity moving forward. While much of this work happens behind the scenes, Rebecca is also the first point of contact for many of our patients and volunteers.
Our Committee is made up of a group of people who bring a wide range of skills and experience to CSG. Our President, Bronwen, is tireless in her support of patients, regularly helping with transport and translations, while also building relationships with local charities, community organisations and government bodies
Linda manages our Need to Talk programme, supporting patients and carers who need someone to talk to, as well as overseeing volunteer training and support. Suzanne, our nutritionist and counsellor, provides specialist nutritional advice and counselling, working alongside our wider team of counsellors who provide emotional and psychological support to patients and carers.
Anita makes a huge contribution through her fundraising efforts, helping us raise the vital funds needed to continue our work. Barbra, our PR expert, helps us communicate our work and raise awareness of CSG within the wider community.
We are also delighted to have Pete and Yuri as our newest committee members. They bring fresh ideas, skills and perspectives to the team and we’re excited to have them involved.
Although Iris and Jenny have stepped down from their formal committee positions, they remain Honorary Committee Members and continue to play an important role within CSG. Iris, together with Hilary, does a fantastic job at our drop-in centres, providing patients with a friendly face and a welcoming place to find support. Jenny continues to help with phone calls and paperwork on behalf of our many members.
Damaris provides advice and support around the benefits of exercise and helps us deliver cancer awareness talks, while Harriet provides valuable support to patients in the north of the island and contributes massively to our fundraising efforts.
And of course, none of this would be possible without our amazing team of volunteers. They give their time generously to support patients, help at drop-in centres and events, provide practical assistance and Buddy support, and champion the work of CSG throughout Mallorca.
Together, our committee, coordinator, counsellors and volunteers make Cancer Support Mallorca what it is: a caring, committed community working together to support people affected by cancer.
