Cherry K brings Northern Soul and Motown night to Hondon de las Nieves

Cherry K will bring an evening of Northern Soul and Motown to The Hondon Hub on Saturday, September 12.

Tickets cost €10 per person, with booking essential for the evening in Hondon de las Nieves.

Cherry K began performing in Wales at just 13

Cherry first began singing in Wales at the age of 13, performing alongside Bethan Williams as the Country Kittens.

Her mother, Angie Evans, is a line dancing teacher and events organiser on the Costa Blanca, and country music was a major influence during Cherry’s early years.

The Country Kittens appeared on the front cover of Linedancer Magazine in 2005 and the following year received the magazine’s Rising Stars award.

Their first two albums, “Introducing Country Kittens” and “Easy Tiger”, were produced by country singer and songwriter Dave Sheriff. Further albums included “Heartbreaker”, “Black and White” and “With Love From Spain”.

Country Kittens became familiar faces on the Costa Blanca

The pair also performed at the first three Costa Fiesta festivals on the Costa Blanca before Bethan left to concentrate on her university studies.

Cherry continued as a solo performer and has now expanded her musical repertoire beyond country. The singer now performs contemporary songs and material ranging from ABBA over to Adele.

Her solo career has allowed her to explore a much broader selection of music while continuing to perform for audiences on the Costa Blanca.

Northern Soul and Motown take centre stage at The Hondon Hub

Her September 12 appearance will concentrate on Northern Soul and Motown, bringing a different flavour to The Hondon Hub for the Saturday night performance.

The Hondon Hub is located at Calle Davo, 03688 in Hondon de las Nieves.
