Family issues desperate appeal after missing Briton vanishes in Benidorm

A missing Briton in Benidorm has friends and family concerned and issuing appeals to help after he disappeared near the city’s famed Chaplin’s Bar. The man, from Bolton, was due to fly home on Monday, September 7, but hasn’t been heard from since the night out with his friends. His loved ones have stated they are “very worried” for his safety.

Paul Cartwright, aged 39, was last seen by friends at the well-known bar in the popular tourist destination, in the early hours of Sunday, September 6. The friends he had been travelling with have returned home, but there has been no sign of the missing Brit. Paul’s wife, Sara Louise Cartwright, and mother, Eileen Jones, journeyed to Spain to speak with local officials. They have also issued appeals for any information on Thursday, September 10.

“Could anyone confirm if he has been seen in a bar club or outside on the beach front, etc,” stated Eileen. “If you see him, please ask him to ring home. We are all very worried. Please let us know if you see him.”

‘Very recognisable as he has half an ear missing’: Paul’s distinctive features

Reportedly, Paul is from Kearsley in Bolton, and is a scaffolding firm boss. According to Paul’s friend, Linzi Kate Pearson, who is reportedly also travelling to Spain, “Paul is very recognisable as he has half an ear missing. Please look out for this if you’re walking around and think it might be him.”

Pearson added, “He would be wearing glasses 99 per cent. He’s believed to have been wearing beige chino shorts and a white T-shirt with flip flops.”

A family’s desperate search: Those in Benidorm with information urged to come forward

Paul’s family and loved ones believe he lost his mobile phone, and are asking anyone with any information to come forward. They also believe he may be seen anywhere from between Benidorm’s old town and the strip.

“He’s a good lad and a good family man,” Pearson stated in her urgent appeal on social media. “I’m begging you, please share. It takes two minutes, thank you.”

With the arrival of peak holiday season, cases such as these become an unfortunately more common occurrence. Anyone who has any information about Paul’s whereabouts or belongings is encouraged to come forward to the Benidorm local police or authorities.
