Animal charities bring fundraising events to San Miguel and Villamartin

Animal lovers have two opportunities to support local rescue organisations, with Happy Animales preparing an End of Summer Party in San Miguel de Salinas while Little Pod Association continues its weekly Animal Mondays in Villamartin.

Both charities rely on community support to help animals needing care and new homes, with food, entertainment, raffles and other fundraising activities giving residents a chance to get involved.

Happy Animales holds End of Summer Party

Happy Animales will round off September with an End of Summer Party at The Pit Stop on Wednesday, September 30.

The fundraiser begins at 5:00 PM and will include a barbecue, raffle, games and music from DJ AJ, with money raised going towards the charity’s animal welfare work.

Happy Animales cares for rescued animals at its finca in San Miguel de Salinas, including dogs, cats, horses, pigs, goats, geese and chickens. The association also works to find suitable homes for animals where possible and operates a neutering programme for street cats.

The charity relies on donations and volunteers, making fundraising events an important source of support. Donations of pet food are also welcomed.

Happy Animales is linked with The Pit Stop’s regular Wednesday Fun Party, which runs from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM with DJ AJ. Visitors attending those evenings are encouraged to bring donations of dog or cat food.

The organisation also operates a charity shop at Calle San Miguel 19 in San Miguel de Salinas.

Animal Mondays support Little Pod in Villamartin

Meanwhile, animal lovers in Villamartin can support Little Pod Association through a regular weekly community afternoon at Drivers Bar.

Animal Mondays takes place every Monday from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM, bringing supporters together to raise money for animals needing care and new homes.

The afternoon includes stalls, prize bingo and raffles, with entertainment provided by Simon Morton. Visitors can join the fundraising activities, browse the stalls or simply enjoy the social side of the event.

Money raised goes towards Little Pod Association’s animal welfare work, including rescuing animals, providing care and helping to find suitable new homes.

The weekly format also gives residents who cannot attend larger one-off charity events a regular opportunity to contribute throughout the year.

Little Pod Association is a registered charity and promotes its work under the message “Rescue, Protect, Rehome, Repeat”, with its Villamartin Animal Mondays helping generate continuing support for animals in need.
