Dolly Parton tribute celebrates country music legend at Guardamar Park

Dolly Parton fans can celebrate Dolly Parton Day with an afternoon dedicated to the country music star at Guardamar Park Social Club on Friday, September 25.

Dolly Through the Decades will run from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, taking audiences through different stages of Parton’s long career and revisiting the songs that made her one of country music’s most recognisable performers.

The special show is being staged to mark Dolly Parton Day and celebrate the singer’s enormous contribution to music.

Parton’s career stretches back more than six decades, during which she became known far beyond the world of country music.

Her extensive catalogue includes favourites such as Jolene, 9 to 5 and I Will Always Love You. The latter was written and originally recorded by Parton before later becoming a worldwide hit for Whitney Houston.

Over the decades, Parton has written and recorded hundreds of songs, building a career that has crossed country and pop music as well as film and television.

Dolly Through the Decades will draw on that long musical history, giving fans an opportunity to revisit different periods of her career during the three-hour Guardamar Park show.

Dolly Parton Day also celebrates her charitable work

Away from music and entertainment, Parton has become widely associated with charitable work, particularly projects supporting children’s literacy.

Her Imagination Library was launched in 1995 and provides free books to young children. The initiative has since expanded internationally, extending its reach well beyond the community where it began.

The Guardamar Park event will celebrate the different sides of Parton’s career and public life while putting her music at the heart of the afternoon.

Tickets cost €5 for the Guardamar Park show

Dolly Through the Decades takes place from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, September 25.

Tickets cost €5 per person, and food will also be available during the afternoon.

The event provides country music fans with three hours dedicated to songs from across Parton’s career, from her best-known recordings to the music that helped establish her international reputation.
