Pop the date on your calendar as Fuengirola’s favourite autumn fiesta returns this October to Palacio de la Paz, with a new line up getting people excited, plus flamenco royalty, horse-drawn carriages and enough late-night dancing to see you through to sunrise.
What exactly is the Feria del Rosario?
Every October, Fuengirola pays tribute to its patron saint, the Virgen del Rosario, with a full week of festivities. Culture, live music, traditional dress and street food come together across the town, with the fairground site turning into party central once the sun goes down. This year the feria runs from Tuesday, October 6 starting at 9:30 pm right through to Monday, October 12.
The first evening features the opening speech, then the 48th edition of the Juan de la Loma flamenco festival with live singing and guitar. Across the following days, Marta Sanchez, David Bustamante and Antonio Jose all hit the stage, joined by children’s favourite Cantajuegos for younger fans. Night owls get their own moment too, courtesy of Los 40 Sessions, with DJs Nano and San Bernardino for a buzzing youth night.
Horses, carriages and casetas until dawn
No Andalucian fair would feel complete without its horses. A traditional parade of riders and horse-drawn carriages will wind through the streets, with fairgoers turning out in their finest flamenco dress. Inside the marquees, hours run late: music continues until 5:30am on the busiest nights of October 6, 9, 10 and 11 , with closing at 6am, while quieter evenings on October 7, 8 and 12 wrap up by 3:30am, closing at 4am.
Tickets, prices and where to find information
Seated tickets cost €10, box seats €15; the Cantajuegos family show is cheaper, at €5 and €10. Tickets can be found at entradas.fuengirola.es and at the Centro Comercial Miramar shopping centre, booking early is advised for the bigger names. For the full scheduling and line up see the Fuengirola Town Hall wesbite.
