Eat your way around the Almanzora Valley

October is the perfect time to get out and discover more of the Almanzora Valley, and this year there is an especially tasty reason to explore. From 1 to 31 October 2026, the 4th Ruta de Sabores Almanzora will bring together 39 bars and restaurants across 20 villages, creating a month-long food trail through the interior of Almería.

Rather than being a one-day food festival, the Ruta de Sabores gives you the whole month to discover different corners of the valley, stopping for a tapa along the way. It is an opportunity to combine good food with a drive through some of the area’s towns and villages, while supporting local hospitality businesses.

How to take part in the Ruta de Sabores Almanzora

Getting involved is straightforward. First, pick up your Ruta de Sabores card from any of the participating establishments. Then visit three different participating bars or restaurants and collect a stamp at each one.

Once you have three stamps, complete the card with your details, making sure everything is clearly visible. Take a photo of the side of the card showing your stamps and information, then send it by WhatsApp to 668 80 22 14 between 1 and 31 October. Participation is free, although entrants must be 18 or over.

You can also enter more than once, provided each additional card has stamps from different establishments.

Discover food and villages across the Almanzora Valley

With participating venues spread across the valley, the route is a good excuse to explore beyond your usual destinations. You might find yourself enjoying a stop in Lúcar, heading to Macael for another taste, or continuing towards Serón as you work your way through the valley.

There are plenty more stops to discover, with participating establishments also found in places including Albox, Olula del Río, Purchena, Tíjola, Suflí, Taberno, Urrácal and Zurgena. Win a taste of the Almanzora Valley

There is also a tempting prize waiting at the end of the route. Completed cards will be entered into a draw taking place on 5 November 2026, with the winner receiving €100 in cash plus a hamper of Almanzora products worth more than €350.

The prize brings together a wide selection of local produce, including olive oil, traditional sweets, cured meats, honey, preserves, potatoes and other regional specialities.
