A bull has caused chaos on a Spanish road after apparently escaping from a nearby finca and charging at vehicles travelling between Chiclana and Medina Sidonia in the Cadiz region.
Footage shared on social media shows the animal running along the A-390 before confronting a lorry and later charging at a car. Other motorists can be seen turning around rather than risk driving towards the animal.

Bull charges vehicles on A-390
The incident happened on Thursday, October 2, on the road connecting Chiclana and Medina Sidonia in Cadiz province. Videos published on TikTok by user @_enrique_1 show the bull moving between vehicles before approaching a stationary lorry. The animal then charges the truck, appearing to strike it with considerable force.
A second video shows the bull confronting a car. Drivers travelling behind the vehicle appear to reverse or turn around as they try to get away from the animal.

According to the Spanish report, the bull is believed to have escaped from a nearby finca after jumping a fence. Guardia Civil officers attended the incident as traffic was affected.
Reactions to the footage have focused on what could have happened if a motorbike or bicycle had encountered the animal at speed, particularly after dark when visibility would have been much poorer.
Medina Sidonia is on Spain’s Ruta del Toro
Medina Sidonia is part of the well-known Ruta del Toro, an area of Cadiz province associated with fighting-bull farms and extensive rural estates. Escaped bulls are not an everyday sight on Spanish roads, but the latest incident is far from the only case in which a large animal has created a serious traffic problem.
In December 2025, drivers on the road between Moguer and Lucena del Puerto in Huelva were forced to stop after a loose bull appeared in the carriageway. Traffic was halted in both directions until the animal was moved away, with no accident reported.
Bulls have reached Spanish motorways before
A more dramatic incident happened near Iriepal in Guadalajara in 2013, when a bull escaped from a traditional countryside bull run and reached the A-2 motorway. Several cars were reportedly hit by the animal, including the vehicle from which footage of the incident was recorded. Nobody was reported injured.
Calahorra in La Rioja saw another road drama in October 2023 when two cattle escaped while being taken to a slaughterhouse. One reached the N-232, where Guardia Civil and local police had to intervene. The road was temporarily closed and the animal later rammed a Guardia Civil vehicle.
Asturias had its own motorway scare in June 2023 when a bull found its way onto the A-63 between Oviedo and La Espina. Guardia Civil officers stopped traffic and escorted the animal to safety.
Such incidents show that while a bull charging through Spanish traffic is unusual, it is not without precedent. For drivers who happen to come across one, however, the danger is very real: a large animal suddenly appearing on the road can leave motorists with little time to react.
