The picturesque harbour of Port d’Andratx is preparing to welcome visitors for a lively weekend celebrating Mallorca’s maritime heritage, with a boat market, seafood specialities, live music and family-friendly activities all on the programme.
The third edition of the Fira Marinera will take place on Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18, transforming the waterfront into a meeting place for sailing enthusiasts, food lovers, families and anyone looking for a different way to enjoy the island this autumn.
With around 30 stands, a nautical exhibition, a craft market and opportunities to try water sports, the free event offers plenty of reasons to spend a few hours exploring one of Mallorca’s best-known coastal destinations.
Boats, local flavours and seaside discoveries
The fair will showcase the area’s strong connection with the sea, bringing together businesses from the nautical sector, boats for sale and a programme of activities inspired by maritime life.
Visitors can browse the exhibition of boats, including second-hand vessels, while discovering marine businesses and services. Craft stalls will offer another reason to take a leisurely stroll along the harbour, with local restaurants adding a gastronomic dimension through seafood-inspired dishes and special menus.
For those keen to get out on the water rather than simply admire it from the shore, introductory sailing and kayaking sessions will provide an opportunity to discover nautical activities.
Families are also catered for, with children’s activities and workshops forming part of the weekend programme.
The combination of food, boats, crafts and entertainment makes the fair an inviting option for both residents and visitors hoping to discover more about Port d’Andratx beyond its restaurants and scenic waterfront.
Saturday brings live music and a charity concert
Saturday, October 17, will offer a full day of maritime activities, with the exhibition, boat market, craft stalls and food options running alongside family entertainment and water-based experiences.
An exhibition by Gabriel Verd Martorell, titled En busca de la verdad. Cristóbal Colón, mallorquín, will open at midday. It explores the theory that Christopher Columbus may have had Mallorcan origins, using historical maps, paintings and other materials.
Music will take centre stage from 5pm, when a charity concert supporting the fight against breast cancer gets under way.
The line-up features Batucada El Puntazo, La Granja, Rafa Sánchez of La Unión, Ramonells and Gin Tonics Band, bringing a mix of performances to the harbour-side celebrations.
The concert adds a charitable element to the festivities, giving visitors the chance to enjoy live entertainment while supporting a cause that affects families across Spain.
Sunday combines sport, sailing and family fun
The celebrations will continue on Sunday, October 18, with more opportunities to explore the nautical exhibition, browse the craft market and enjoy the food on offer.
Sport will also feature prominently, with activities at Pont Saluet including Pilates, functional training, salsa and bachata. Participants will be asked to make a €2 donation per activity, with proceeds going to the Spanish Association Against Cancer.
Sailing enthusiasts can also look forward to the second VisitAndratx Cruiser Trophy, a competition forming part of the maritime fair. Introductory sailing sessions and children’s activities will provide further ways to get involved.
The weekend’s programme is supported by Andratx Town Council, Club de Vela Port d’Andratx, Marina Port Andratx and other local organisations.
A reason to explore Mallorca’s coastline this autumn
The Fira Marinera offers an opportunity to celebrate the traditions and businesses that remain closely connected to life around Port d’Andratx, while bringing residents and visitors together for a weekend of food, music and outdoor activities.
With free entry, a varied programme and the harbour as its backdrop, the event could be an appealing choice for families, couples and groups of friends looking for something to do over the October weekend.
For visitors who enjoy combining a coastal walk with local food, entertainment and a little maritime history, the fair offers a fresh reason to head to Port d’Andratx this autumn.
