Boarding a flight in Andalucia and stepping off in Canada without a single connection or airport dash is about to become reality, as from September 2027, Air Canada will launch historic non-stop flights between Seville and Montreal. The new seasonal service opens up direct transatlantic travel for southern Spain, cutting travel times and providing seamless access to North America.

Air Canada confirms Seville to Montreal route

Air Canada will start seasonal non-stop flights between Montreal and Seville on September 8 2027, the only non-stop flight between Seville and North America.

Flight AC958 leaves Montreal at 8.30pm and lands in Seville at 9.30am the following day. The return, AC959, departs Seville at 12.45pm and reaches Montreal at 2.40pm. Allowing for the six-hour time difference, that works out at roughly seven hours heading to Seville and just under eight hours coming back.

Comparing that with today’s options, the quickest one-stop journey from Seville to Montreal takes around 11 hours and 20 minutes. Other connecting itineraries listed for the route run to 14 hours or more, so this direct flight should save several hours and a lot of hassle.

Flights will run three times a week at first, rising to four from October, 1 2027. Seville-bound flights operate from September 82027 to January 8 2028, then from February 18 to June 3 2028. Air Canada has not yet published the exact days of the week, and the schedule is subject to change. The aircraft taking you on these non-stop journeys is an Airbus A321XLR, with 14 lie-flat Signature Class seats and 168 in economy.

Why residents in Spain should pay attention

Until now, reaching Montreal from Andalucia has meant at least one stop in Europe. A direct service removes the stress of tight transfers and the risk of delayed luggage. The evening departure also gives you a quick night’s sleep on board and a mid-morning arrival.

Many people living in Spain have children, grandchildren or friends in Canada, so this route brings them far closer. Montreal also offers onward connections across North America, the Caribbean and Latin America. Residents in Seville, Cadiz, Huelva and Cordoba provinces gain the most, while those on the Costa del Sol can easily reach Seville’s airport by road or rail.

Canadian visitors should also bring fresh custom to Andalucian hotels, bars and holiday rentals.

Seville airport keeps growing

Seville airport offered 61 routes in 2013 and now has 114 showing real growth. Montreal becomes its first long-haul route and direct North American link, and will be Air Canada’s fifth destination in Spain.

Launch day is almost a year away, but tickets went on sale Wednesday, October 14. Travellers must remember to check Canada’s current entry rules, including any electronic travel authorisation well before travelling.
