Andrea’s Animal Rescue and The Henrietta Foundation are preparing to open their fourth charity shop, expanding their fundraising efforts to support rescued donkeys in their care. The new shop will be located in Camposol A Sector, giving residents another location through which to support the animal rescue organisation by donating unwanted items, shopping second-hand and volunteering their time.
Charity expands fundraising efforts with fourth shop
The announcement marks another milestone for the charity, which took over Mama’s Charity Shop in Puerto de Mazarron in March 2024. Since then, its network of shops has grown, helping raise essential funds for the adorable rescue donkeys that depend on the organisation.
Unwanted items can help support rescued donkeys
The Camposol location will stock a variety of donated goods, including clothing, shoes, bags, household items, books and other items. Residents clearing out the clutter in their homes or who have any number of unwanted items that someone else could find a use for are being encouraged to consider donating them rather than putting them in the bin. These donations will help fill the shelves of the new shop and provide goods for shoppers looking for second-hand finds. The charity relies on community support to keep its work going, with every purchase and donation helping contribute towards the costs of caring for rescued animals.
Volunteers needed to prepare new premises
Andrea’s Animal Rescue and The Henrietta Foundation are also looking for volunteers to help prepare the shop for opening and assist with its day-to-day tasks once it is operational. People interested in getting involved are invited to contact the organisation. Volunteering is a fun way to support the charities’ work, socialise with other animal lovers, and invest time into a close-knit community.
The organisation has thanked the residents who have supported its existing shops through donations, purchases and volunteering. That backing has helped the charity expand its fundraising activities and continue providing care for its rescued donkeys.
“This is another huge step forward for us and, most importantly, another way for us to raise much-needed funds for the donkeys in our care,” stated the charity in a Facebook post announcing the new shop. “From our very first little shop, the support and generosity of the local community has been incredible. Every donation, every purchase, every volunteer hour and every kind word makes a difference.”
“And with so many donkeys depending on us, we certainly have plenty of mouths to feed!”
Community support keeps the donkeys at the shelter fed and well cared for
The new premises will provide yet another way for the community to contribute to the charity’s work, whether by donating pre-loved belongings, finding a bargain or offering a helping hand. Interested animal lovers can also take a look at the charity’s official website, andreasanimalrescue.com, where they can make donations or even sponsor one of the rescue donkeys at the shelter.
