Yacht crew members from across Mallorca have helped raise €7,000 for charity after swapping life on board for two wheels in a fundraising cycle bringing together dozens of people from the island’s international yachting industry.

The BWA Yachting Spain Charity Cycle saw 45 cyclists representing 16 vessels and nine companies come together for an energetic day of exercise, teamwork and community spirit.

The riders raised an impressive €3,500, which was then doubled by BWA Yachting, bringing the final donation to €7,000 for Yachting Gives Back.

The event offered a chance for the island’s yachting community to join forces for a cause beyond the day-to-day demands of working at sea, with participants helping to make a tangible contribution to local charitable work.

Cyclists double their fundraising total

Organisers praised the cyclists for their efforts, celebrating the €3,500 raised through their participation and generosity.

BWA Yachting subsequently matched the amount, doubling the funds and ensuring that €7,000 will go towards supporting the work of Yachting Gives Back.

The company thanked everyone who rode, donated and helped organise the event, highlighting the collective effort behind the fundraising success.

The cycle also received support from SOS Yachting and Catalina Mallorca, who were singled out for their contributions.

With 45 participants taking part from nine different companies and 16 vessels, the event demonstrated the willingness of Mallorca’s yachting professionals to come together and support their local community.

The organisers described the event as a fun day for everyone involved, combining physical activity with an opportunity to give something back to the island.

Yachting Gives Back supports charitable work in the local community, benefiting from initiatives that bring together businesses and individuals from Mallorca’s international maritime sector.

The charity cycle is one way the industry can use its collective resources and connections to support people and projects in need.

For the cyclists, the event offered an opportunity to build connections with colleagues from across the industry while contributing to a shared goal.

The organisers thanked all those who helped make the fundraiser possible, celebrating the achievement with the message that the day had delivered tired legs, happy faces and a cause worth every kilometre.

They also hinted at a possible return next year, asking participants whether they would be ready to get back in the saddle.

With €7,000 donated to Yachting Gives Back, this year’s ride has shown how a community event can turn a few hours of cycling into meaningful support for local good causes.
