Dénia transformed into a playground for witches, monsters and little ghosts as Halloween celebrations brought the streets to life with costumes, dancing and plenty of spooky surprises.
The Marina Alta town celebrated La Nit de les Ànimes (Night of the Souls) on Friday, October 31, with a packed programme of family-friendly entertainment and fright-filled fun, blending Halloween traditions with the colourful world of Valencian folklore.
Little monsters take over Dénia
The festivities got underway at 5.30pm, when a costume parade set off from carrer de la Via, bringing a procession of young Halloween revellers through the town.
The route passed through plaça de Maria Hervás, Marqués de Campo, Sandunga and carrer de la Mar before reaching plaça del Consell, where the celebrations continued.
With children dressed as everything from skeletons and vampires to witches and fantastical creatures, the streets became a lively sea of costumes as families joined in the Halloween spirit.
From 6pm, visitors could also explore a series of spooky photo opportunities at locations including Maria Hervás, Glorieta del País Valencià, plaça del Convent, plaça de l’Ajuntament and inside Dénia’s municipal market.
The frighteningly fun backdrops offered the perfect opportunity to capture the evening’s most memorable moments.

The party continued at plaça del Consell from 6.30pm, with an opening dance, mini disco and choreographed performances getting the crowd moving.
As darkness fell, the celebrations took a more theatrical turn.
At 10pm, a Halloween parade departed from Quatre Cantons and made its way towards plaça del Consell, bringing another wave of costumed characters into the streets.
For those looking for something a little more intense, the town’s youth centre hosted ‘La Purga’, a role-playing game for groups running from 6pm to 10pm.
The experience offered a different kind of Halloween thrill for anyone brave enough to take part.
A Valencian twist on Halloween
La Nit de les Ànimes gave Dénia a chance to celebrate Halloween while embracing the region’s own folklore and traditions.
With family activities, dancing, elaborate costumes and a late-night parade, the event delivered a lively evening that brought residents and visitors together.
From the smallest ghosts to the scariest monsters, Dénia proved that Halloween is about far more than trick-or-treating, with a whole town ready to join the frightful fun.
