Can you remember where you were when you first heard ‘Where the Streets Have No Name’? Or the time you slow-danced to ‘With or Without You’? U2’s return to Spain will be a trip down memory lane for thousands of music lovers across the country.
Returning to Spain
U2 will return to Spain for stadium concerts in May 2027, bringing fans across Catalonia, Andalucia, and beyond a rare chance to see Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr together on a grand scale. The Irish rock icons will play Barcelona’s Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on Thursday, May 13 and Saturday, May 15 2027 and Seville, Estadio La Cartuja on Saturday, May 22 as part of Carnaval De Luz presents: The Greatest Show On Earth World Tour.
For superfans and newer listeners, the announcement brings joy and ends years of waiting as U2’s last visit to Spain came in 2018 during the Experience + Innocence tour in Madrid. Their upcoming dates mark their first stadium concerts since The Joshua Tree Tour wrapped up in 2019.
The new production has been described by the band as a “celebration of human connection and intimacy on a grand scale”. Fans can expect material spanning U2’s incredible five-decade career, along with a taste of new tracks from Carnaval De Luz, the group’s 16th studio album.
How to get your hands on the tickets
General sale tickets launch on Friday, November 13 2026 at 10am local time through Ticketmaster, Live Nation, and El Corte Ingles. With two Barcelona dates and a Seville show confirmed, the tickets are expected to sell like hot cakes.
The U2.com fan presale opens earlier on Monday, November 9 at 10am. Expat residents and fans hoping to secure seats should register their accounts early and make sure payment details are up to date before tickets drop.
Prices range from €85 to €255 (plus standard booking fees), with tiered categories in between. Official ticketing partners are the only safe place to buy, as third-party resale listings often carry inflated prices and validity risks.
Full line-up restored for 2027
U2’s Spanish fanbase has waited nearly a decade for a stadium tour. After their 2018 indoor shows, the band completed a landmark 40-night residency at Sphere in Las Vegas between 2023 and 2024.
Drummer Larry Mullen Jr missed the Las Vegas performances due to surgery and recovery for a severe neck injury. He is now fully recovered and set to take his place behind the kit along with his legendary bandmates Bono, The Edge, and Adam Clayton.
Barcelona holds a special place in the band’s touring history: by the end of May 2027, U2 will have performed in the city 12 times, dating back to their Zoo TV show at Palau Sant Jordi in 1992.
Special guests
Carnaval De Luz presents: The Greatest Show On Earth World Tour kicks off in Stockholm in late April 2027, with British band Wolf Alice confirmed as special guests for the European leg.
The tour supports Carnaval De Luz, releasing on November 13 2026. Following Spain, U2’s tour routes through Lisbon, Amsterdam, London, Berlin, and Milan.
Spain tour schedule
Thursday, May 13 2027: Barcelona, Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys
Saturday, May 15 2027: Barcelona, Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys
