Grab that general knowledge book and get revising as animal lovers across the sunny south coast have a chance to test your trivia knowledge and support stray cats in need. Visa Versa restaurant is asking for locals, friends and family to come together for a friendly charity quiz event to fund crucial medical care, spaying programmes, and daily food for vulnerable street felines.

Protecting stray felines in Costa del Sol

Feral and abandoned cat populations are a persistent issue throughout coastal communities in Spain. Warm weather conditions lead to frequent breeding cycles, leaving hundreds of stray kittens and cats wandering urban streets, port areas, and residential complexes. Dedicated local volunteers and rescue groups work tirelessly behind the scenes, managing trap-neuter-return (TNR) schemes and distributing daily food supplies. Community support through local fundraisers plays a vital role in funding these ongoing veterinary bills and rescue efforts.

Event details and how to take part

Organisers have scheduled the fun trivia gathering for Saturday, November 14. Teams can arrive early from 6:30pm to settle in and get in the zone before the quiz kicks off at 7:30pm. Entry fees are set at €19 per team, along with a fun mandatory donation of 8 cans of Mercadona cat food to restock local rescue pantries directly. Team sizes are restricted to a maximum of 4 players to ensure fair play and adequate space for all participants. Anyone interested in booking a table or entering a team can contact organiser Mini directly on +34 711 082 124.

Friendly hospitality at Visa Versa restaurant

Hosting this local charity initiative is Visa Versa Restaurant (also known locally as Gastropub Vice Versa), located in Puerto Paraiso right within Estepona Port. Well known among local residents and expats, this marina venue is appreciated for its hearty full English breakfasts, fish and chips, pub classic meals, and wonderful warm welcome.

So gather your sharpest team, pop a few tins of food in your next shopping basket and join an evening out that directly benefits local animal welfare.
