MALAGA city hall plans to attend 200 activities in the USA, Canada, South Korea, Brazil, Russia, Turkey and the main European markets to promote the city as a tourist destination.
The Tourism, Culture and Sports Councillor, Damian Caneda, and General Manager of Tourism, Francisco Quereda, pointed out the importance of targeting markets abroad due to the current financial climate preventing Spanish tourists from travelling as much.
They also referred to the sectors which the city hall has focused on in the past years, such as cultural tourism, cruises, congresses and language courses.
The aim now is also to promote gastronomic tourism, improve beaches, organize more cultural events, and show sports enthusiasts all that Malaga has to offer them.
