VELEZ-MALAGA Town Hall plans to install a system which will automatically measure noise levels in bars and discos in Torre del Mar.
The Councillor for Commerce, Emilio Martin, said the agreement was reached with the local business association following numerous complaints from residents in the area.
He pointed out that the number of complaints received had gone up since the town hall was sentenced to pay €2.8 million for failing to put a stop to similar problems affecting residents of the Ipanema complex in El Copo.
The remote system using noise limiters planned will allow police to immediately check whether laws are being violated as soon as a local resident reports irregularities.
