‘Black brigade’ foiled

POLICE in Madrid liberated a 14-year-old Romanian girl who was forced into prostitution by her own mother and brothers.

Known as the Black Brigade, they forced women to work as prostitutes and also rob clients.

Seven arrests were made in all and four other women, one of them underage, were freed.  All were constantly threatened and beaten, sometimes so brutally they were unable to ‘work.’

The family of the 14-year-old, who has been taken into care, allied themselves to other gangs operating on the notorious Marconi industrial estate.  

They wanted to monopolise prostitution in the area, following the arrest and imprisonment of the Romanian known as Pig’s Head who formerly controlled vice in that part of the city.
