ONE of the top 80s rock bands, Simple Minds, will play their ‘5×5 Live Tour’ at IFA Open Air Auditorium in Alicante on August 11.
The gig will be one of only three dates of the band’s Spanish summer tour, which includes Marbella, Elche, and Cap Roig).
The Scottish rock band come back with five songs from each of their five first albums, including ‘Live in a Day’ (1979), ‘Reel to Real Cacophony’ (1979), ‘Empires and Dance’ (1989), ‘Sons and Fascination/Sister Feelings Call’ (1981), and ‘New Gold Dream’ (1982).
There will be a 80s after-show party afterwards for those who wish to continue celebrating a fantastic decade of music.
Simple Minds have sold more than 60 million albums and gather many nominations and awards throughout their life as a band, as well as 22 platinum records only in the UK, five #1 albums and 22 singles within the Top #20 charts.
Their 1982 album New Gold Dream is considered an essential listening for contemporary music fans and their 1985 hit Don’t You (Forget About me) is one of the main anthems of the eighties decade.
