Book launch by the writer Maria Cabrillana in Almuñecar

MALAGA writer Maria Cabrillana de Rivas has presented her second book in Almuñecar. The book titled ‘Esquirlas de un Espejismo’ (Splinters of a Mirage) is a reflection of life.

It mixes the absurd with reality, the grotesque with the daily routine, sadness with humour, the nostalgia of hope, the disenchantment of illusions, the desertion of love, and tenderness with solitude, said the author.

The event was presented by the director of the municipal library, Javier Sanchez-Contreras and was held in the Casa de la Cultura. The author lives in Marbella now and hopes to make a journey to retrace her roots into the interior of Spain, which was the theme of her first novel called, ‘De cal y sombras’ (Of quicklime and shadows).
