JOAQUIN FERNANDEZ, the Almeria B midfielder has enjoyed two weeks in England having an eight day trial with Liverpool reserve team. The 17 year old from Huercal de Almería has been talking about his trip. “It was an amazing experience. We should learn from England, here in Spain we love football but there, they live for football.
There is a big difference in the running of the clubs and in the environment not only on matchdays but also throughout the week, because there the reserve teams play on weekdays. I felt very excited to visit Anfield, since childhood it has been a dream to be able to climb those stairs one day. It would be a pleasure to play there, but I’m focused on the team,my land, and hope to stay in Almeria for many years” he said. The Under 18 international got to know at first hand the discipline that exists in English clubs, noting that “it was reflected in boys of nine or ten years old, they were always in uniform, they train and work as if they were professionals. The facilities are amazing and dealing with other colleagues in the sports city was great. The coaches were very friendly, the place where we ate was in a communal area where you could mix with members of the first team.It was a unique experience, and although I have always been motivated, it was definitely a plus”.
