Jerez woman killed by husband

A man, 44, was arrested in Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz, for allegedly stabbing his wife, 42, to death.

The woman’s body was found in the early hours of Sunday morning in a pool of blood and had several stab wounds.

She had not previously reported her husband for abuse.

The detainee had attempted to commit suicide and had to be taken to hospital to be treated for injuries to the neck and arms, although he was later released and taken into police custody.

The couple had a son who was not in the house at the time.

Neighbours heard arguing at around 3am and believed the woman had just arrived home at that time, which could have made the man jealous.
