AVERAGE occupancy in hotels on the Costa Blanca, excluding Benidorm, has increased 2.7 points in the first half of February compared to a year earlier.
According to data from the hotel employer Hosbec, overnight stays were fairly evenly split between domestic and foreign visitors, with more tourists from the USA arriving. Over half of guests (54 per cent) chose to stay in three-star hotels, with Finestrat, L’Alfas del Pi and Calpe recording the highest occupancy levels.
