A MAN who stabbed his partner to death and handed himself in to police three hours later in Torremolinos may be jailed for 22 years.
The former court worker, who was 50 at the time, stabbed his partner 15 times with a 14cm-long punch tool from a sewing kit, and covered her with a sheet behind the sofa at their rented home on Calle Brasil, before presenting himself at a nearby police station to confess.
“Good evening, I’ve come to surrender because I’ve killed my wife,” said Alfredo CG upon arriving at the station on Calle Skal at 4.30am.
Officers were surprised by his calm appearance and went to the man’s home, where they found the victim covered with a sheet on the floor behind the sofa.
Although the body carried 15 stab wounds, there were no signs of violence in the tidy home.
Along with a 22-year jail sentence, the Public Prosecutor’s office is requesting €50,000 in damages for the deceased woman’s 14-year-old daughter, €10,000 for her parents and €5,000 for her siblings.
The case is due to be heard before a jury on May 11 at Malaga Provincial court.
