THE Mojacar and Almeria masons have donated €12,500 to the DEBRA charity.
More than 70 people were present at the Hostal Rural in Turre when the Provincial Grandmaster of Andalucia, Giles Crawford, received their cheques.
Giles has chosen to launch his first Provincial Grand Charity in aid of ‘Butterfly Children’. Born with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), their skin is as thin as a butterfly’s wings and even a mother’s caress can cause a painful blister. DEBRA is based in Malaga but attends to the needs of families all over Spain with a team of dedicated professionals.
It is totally funded by charitable donations and Giles has committed the freemasons’ lodges of Andalucia to raising €50,000 over the next three years.
The Mojacar and Almeria lodges presented respective cheques for €7,500 and €5,000 together with cheques for €450 raised by a raffle at Bar El Pinar and €420 from another raffle held on the day.
