WHITE is increasingly the colour – or the non-colour – of choice for Almeria towns.Councils including those of Uleila del Campo, Las Tres Villas, Fiñana and Alcudia de Monteagud now have by-laws stipulating that house exteriors in their town centres should be painted white. In some cases this cost has to be borne by the owners, although in others this is met by the town hall. The preference for uniform white is growing and Seron is the latest municipality to insist on white, revealed by a bylaw that appeared in the Almeria Province official bulletin (BOPA).The town hall hopes that this will encourage residents to improve the municipality with a uniformity that over a period of time has been broken with the introduction of grey and brown tones. These are spoiling the overall effect of the Old Town, sources said.Seron residents who live in this district were advised to apply at the town hall for more information.
